How to reach

Kharagpur is known world over for two landmarks. One, the longest railway platform, and the other, the Indian Institute of Technology, more commonly known as IIT. Situated about 120 km west of Kolkata, Kharagpur is well connected to Kolkata by Road and Rail transport. Kharagpur can be reached in about two hours by train or three hours by car from Howrah railway station of Kolkata. Kharagpur is also connected by direct train services to most major cities of the country. The Institute is about 10 minutes drive (5 km) from the Kharagpur railway station. Subir Chowdhury school of Quality and Reliability is situated in J. C Bose laboratory building at Ramanujam Complex.

Reaching IIT Kharagpur

By Air

The nearest airport to Kharagpur is the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata. It is widely connected to almost all the major destinations of the country.
From Kolkata Airport you can take a taxi from the Airport taxi stand to Kharagpur. The travel time is approximately 2 1/2 hrs.

By Rail

Kharagpur is well connected to most major cities like Kolkata, Mumbai etc. by rail. From Kharagpur railway station, IIT is about 10 min drive.
Alternatively, you can reach the Howrah Railway station and take a local train to Kharagpur.
